Birds An unexpected guest in showed up in our waters last night

So, a Mandarin Duck landed in our local waters last night. I've never seen one before, which is the case for a lot of us I guess. :D I went there as soon as I heard the news. Luckily enough, it's just a few minutes away from my home! I also went there today to try my luck at some good shots. Here's the results:

I've seen one once before, and thought "that's not real!". Then it took flight.
 
Nice shots. They seem to be everywhere at the moment. We don't get them a lot in north east England but this year we have had quite a few.

Maybe the population is slowly growing since some of them are considered wild now in England for example. Ought to happen if they like where they are. :D
