Thanks LB. I have another one where he jumped forward and had his little foot wrapped around the flower at the front. Unfortunately his foot was too out of focus for it to be usable... 🤦‍♂️

This is all I got bird wise on the weekend. Anyone have an ID of this thing? I've never seen them before, some type of honeyeater I think. Beautiful little thing! 🙂
Get the Merlin app from Cornell Lab, it is free super easy to use. Even though I have a list of all the birds I saw in Ecuador on each day I still use the app to ID the birds.

A few shots from this morning at the Conestee Nature Preserve in Greenville, SC.

The Sony 85mm F1.8 is super sharp... so now Im drooling over the potential for a 135 GM.

No idea what this guy is, but very pretty sitting on that branch all the way over there.....

We never had these guys around when I was young. There’s an Australian species … the “Noisy Myna” and an introduced pest like it that chases away all other species of birds.

This cheeky guy I’d like to think is noisy minor. I’ve been known to get them mixed up.

Kestrel posing on a rather spindly twig to be honest. I am really surprised at how well this came out. I'm beginning to think the f7.1 is a real sweet spot on the 200 600. The light was by no means great at the time.

New Holland Honey Eater. They absolutely love the coastal shore lines of South Sydney. When they're roaming around they just look like a little yellow bird. Then you take the photo and zoom in and think 'where the hell did this bird come from!'. What you see roaming around and what is in your photo are two different birds... 😄

Not necessarily, this battle ended with the demise of the Sparrowhawk!

I took the 200-600 for a walk yesty. That is too heavy for a hand held afternoon. And I had a lot of trouble keeping my subjects in the viewfinder at 600mm. Especially the ones flying towards me. After 3 hours I left it on the side of the lake and played with my 85mm lens. So much easier to pan , track and snap. Looks like my next lens is 135GM.

Some well behaved birds I saw.

Admittedly, I wasn't on anything yesterday... 😄

He was absolutely tiny this one. I got very lucky...
There’s a stack of them on the headland nearby. If I sit quietly for a while they come to see what I’m doing. 😂
