I'm in love with this composition Gary! This is sensational mate! 🏆
Thanks Clint unfortunately the shot was from long range so its not as sharp as I would have liked, it maybe the only time I see one so I guess I should be happy! :)

This was so much fun. It felt like I was choosing a portrait for a judge Choosing a Photo.jpg

My favorite winter bird, the dark-eyed junco. They come down every year to winter with us.

Would have been absolutely perfect if the white part of the bird was right in line with the rock..! 😀

Definitely ask him to squat. Any gentleman should only be too happy to be assistance to such a lovely lady. ✅

Australian Brush-turkey - one of the three megapodes (mound builders) which live here. This is the northern subspecies with the lilac neck sac. (Southern are yellow). Male builds the mound, which can be metres high & female lays her eggs there. Male maintains mound temperature by adding & removing material from the mound throughout incubation. When the chick is born it receives zero parenting, it is 'self sufficient from the moment it leaves the egg. Brush Turkey Head.jpeg
