What do you do when sitting in a little boat, and you see this headed straight for you?

You grab your camera, lay flat on the bow, getting as close to the water as you can, and start shooting ;)

An old Chinese proverb: "Young man in small boat, powered with large outboard engine, can move faster than swimming elephants..."

Location: Chobe River (Botswana)

I love how the heads and trunks get smaller and smaller :D

Magical. Very very handy to have a built in snorkel!

The matriarch (Oldest female/leader) leads the family group, and her word is the law, and everybody obeys!

The big bulls operate either singularly, or in small bachelor groups, and in those bachelor groups the oldest and largest bull is the dominant bull and keeps the younger bulls in check. While he can hold his own, he leads, but when a younger, stronger bull challenges him successfully, he leaves and will see out his last days on his own...

Here is an article I wrote on the life of an elephant.... https://timdrimanphotography.co.za/the-survival-of-elephants-depends-on/
