We don't get Autumn in any of the places I have grown up or lived (Jamaica, Southern California, now Florida), so when I went to Japan mid-November 2019 I was enthralled by the "fall colors" of red maple leaves.

My sister-in-law now lives in Vermont, so I am going to try visiting next year in October when the fall colors are in full effect.

Great shots mate. Love the 4th one..

A few more, love these sort of days when you can be outside.

We don't generally fell trees, but made the decision on this birch because it was obviously diseased and close to our caravan. Better to drop it under control than have the wind do it of it's own accord. The picture of the birch isn't coming through for some reason, I'll add it separately.

There's a lot of oak in this woods, and this is a particularly nice stand in the morning with the sun behind it.

Playing on the woods is probably my favourite hobby.....

Nice Job Tim I don't think most will have even noticed the use of the old a-mount glass
Thanks. I pushed myself to use them over the last few days and am glad I did. It was borne of a post here from a new user (who seems to have disappeared) and a simultaneous post on another forum where the poster said there was no A-Mount glass that can beat E mount 'in any aspect'. To that I say:

"Horsecrap."

Not only is that old glass fully capable, but in a lot of cases the color from the Minolta is better than the new stuff as long (as you can keep CA and flare under control). And if cost is a factor, there's no question. The 500 cost me about $285, but of the other lenses featured, the 28-135, the 35-105, the 75-300, and the 100-200, the most expensive was about $65. The 75-300 cost me a whopping $14. The only reason I bought it was to hit the $49 minimum for free shipping from KEH!

And how about that 500? What an amazing Reflex lens. I don't think anyone ever made a better one, and it's really compact compared to some of the offerings. If you want to stuff a long lens into your bag and not take up a lot of space, that's the way to go.

I'm going to leave them on for the next few days and keep playing around.

It is a slow start to Autumn here,

Still too early here as well, and only my phone was handy for this cropped shot in a parking lot  - nice wallpaper though!

No rain for the past 20 days in the "wet" part of Oregon that I live in. :( I suspect we will be having a burnt orange foliage season. At least close-up shots can show the change.

Thanks..
The colours in Ontario are pretty spectacular this year..
We're getting color this year that I'd normally consider 'up north' color. Unfortunately, I may not get the chance to shoot any trees at peak because it's been light rain and wind for the last two days and is supposed to continue through tomorrow. If it gets too much worse the leaves will all drop. Still, I've gotten some decent shots so far.
