This was a touring statue made completely from knives handed in during a knife amnesty.

Wait! A knife amnesty? People handed in all their flick knife, machete, gutting and filet sets?

How civilized is a gun free community? 🙌
I know. I'm now eating everything wit a spoon!!

Not wishing to detract from the photos, or the sculpture which are both excellent, it's a police publicity exercise.

If you look closely, you'll see that the majority of the 100000 blades are the kind of thing that reside in the majority of uk kitchens, gloveboxes, toolboxes etc.

I doubt anyone living in an area rife with knife crime (there are plenty), sleeps any safer, waiting for their teenager to come home at night as a result.

I'm a member of the UKs shooting fraternity and local rag headlines following a gun amnesty can be downright laughable to anyone in the know. I'm not saying gun amnesty's are a bad thing, but the headlines around them could do with some credibility checking.

If only there was a way of reducing crime on the streets?

Sorry, nice shots!
