Sony A6400 Lens compatible with my old Sony NEX-C3 not locking on my new A6400?

I bought the A6400 as a replacement for my old Sony NEX-C3 with the understanding I could use my four lens from the camera with the new one, but when I try to attach the lens to my new camera the locking pin will not engage. Do I need an adapter?

The NEX-3 and NEX-5 were the first E-Mount bodies. I have an older NEX lens we use on an A6000. There's no reason the lenses shouldn't mount properly.

Is there a brick and mortar near you? I would try to mount a newer E-Mount lens to the body to see if it works ok. I suppose the mount could be damaged, but that'd be pretty rare. Still, if none of your lenses mount, something's wrong.
