In the listing of topics on this forum, just below your post Seuadr posted on Sept. 16 that Focus Camera has special discounts for people in education. If you are in the field of education or maybe you have a child, grandchild, or friend who has a .edu Email you might be able to get your lens at a discounted rate. Just have the person with the educational tie order it and you pay them back. I hope you find a good price. I happen to have this lens and I really like it.

I purchased mine through a Canadian retailer, ExcellentPhoto for 920 CAD total shipped. Warranty is North American warranty from Sony. I caught this price when they listed a $100 CAD discount
