  1. Yes
Last night was hazy and cloudy, but I briefly caught a glimpse of the moon. This was about 30 hours before the full moon, but given how mercurial our weather has been, I thought I'd grab the shot.

It seemed huge last night at sunset. I had an 85mm lens fitted and used the looney 11 rule, but then went back to shooting birds!

Just after sunset the humidity rosé tremendously over the ocean. All that hot air. Another really hot day today.

Hi, Gary.
The lens is new to me, so I took a bunch of shots with various combinations of settings. This was the best of the bunch.
For the loony 11 rule, I should have been shooting at F11, but it doesn't surprise me that this came out okay at F5.6. I haven't found a lot of difference in sharpness between F5.6 and F11. I should also have set the ISO to 100 and the shutter speed to 1/100 sec.

I ran the aperture wide open, so I could increase the shutter speed since I was holding over 3000 grams (nearly 7 pounds) of lens and camera over my head.

Hi, Chaitali,
I couldn't help but notice how similar our views of the moon are, even though they are a month apart.
...

Today‘s almost full moon.

And last month my first attempt using the 200-600 in crop mode.

Tonight's moon. Is it most often grey? It seems a lot warmer in colour when it is low in the sky.
Has anyone seen a good colour? :)

This shot uses 600mm lens plus crop 1.5 factor. Blue for boys.
