Curious: what is the rider doing in the first photo? looks like he's holding a piece of string or something attached to his helmet?
 
A form of cleaning the goggles most have tear offs you have to do this whilst in the air as it requires one hand off the bars these are called roll offs you can buy automated ones that work on pressing a button.
