I am going to start a new thread and see if it goes anywhere. I am inviting everyone to post their photos of North American wildlife below.

Rules:
1) Taken with a Sony Alpha camera.
2) Animals are free roaming (eg not in captivity like a zoo).
3) Taken somewhere in North America (even if they are non-native, like the parrots of Los Angeles).

As a courtesy, please list the species, location, and camera/lens. Also please insert image instead of attaching as a thumbnail.

I will start with a shot from my first outing with a rented Sony A74 and 200-600 lens, which is what convinced me to buy one.
Juvenile bobcat, Sweetwater Wetl;ands in Tucson, Arizona, USA.

No other entries yet? I will keep adding until someone does! Here are two from around sunset tonight at my condominium in the Tucson Mountains (Arizona, USA). The javelina (aka collared peccary) is along an arroyo that runs behind our complex, though they regularly enter our complex to feed. The great horned owl is one of a pair that roost in a tree near my unit (above a small lawn the javelinas often graze on). Both with A74 (with battery grip) and 200-600 lens.

Love it - keep them coming!

@Blake81 Thanks for the posts; I love the barred owl.

Like my first shot, here is another (more recent) one from Sweetwater Wetlands in Tucson (Arizona, USA). Desert cottontail rabbit with Sony A74 (with battery grip) and FE 200-600 lens. In full disclosure, I removed a pole on the left and extended the right using Photoshop Elements.

You will, of course, be reported to the Pole Agency. Nice Wabbit!

I love all the contributions! Last week I went back to Sweetwater Wetlands (same place from my initial post). This is in my city of Tucson (Arizona, USA). I had two snakes: desert kingsnake and western diamondback. Sony A74 (with battery grip) and FE 200-600 lens.

@Doug Herr Your coyote and fox photos are fantastic! I see coyotes often where I live in Tucson, but have never managed to photograph a fox in the wild. (I have had brief glimpses of gray fox in Arizona and California, but no photos). I am going to Rocky Mountain NP in three weeks and hope to see red fox there.

@Doug Herr Love the deer; another amazing shot. I am glad you found this thread.

One from this morning, a Costa's hummingbird. It was photographed on the grounds of Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum just outside my city of Tucson. They have a hummingbird aviary as well, but this one was wild on the grounds. Sony A74 with battery grip and FE 200-600.
