This model, or rather the speculated features, confuses me. The FX3/A7SIII has a full frame 12.1mp sensor but this one has a rumored 26mp APSC sensor... unless that's a stacked sensor, I can't imagine it will be close in performance or even beneficial over the old 24mp apsc sensor... I guess that's what you get at $1400 cheaper than the full-frame.

Either way, I'd rather have that 26mp sensor in an a6600 successor. maybe next year?

If it has the same sensor as in the Fujifilm X-H2s then it will be a very good sensor. CineD is showing some impressive results for video at least.

Yeah, you have to remember that new sensor technology is new sensor technology. More MP, fewer MP, stacked or not, each generation is better than the last. It's true the advancements aren't as significant as they were. Look at the 7-IV. Excellent non stacked sensor with very wide DR and more MP than the previous standard models. The new APS-C isn't so much different.

Sony isn't going to release anything with a crap sensor, you can bet it will perform.
