The 200-600mm G is my favorite lens by far. The images I have captured on it are amazing!

Since the day I got it, the 200-600 has travelled out everywhere with me! It's spatular sharpness really shows! I would say that this is the single best image I've taken with the lens that really shows it's capability. The Coyote was roughly 75 feet away, and this was at the full 600mm (1/200 sec , f6.3, ISO-2500).

I'm going to hang around here and listen in for a bit, as I am planning to buy this lens with the A9! It's so nice to see good quality wildlife photos on here (so many in the Facebook group get horribly cropped....) Beautiful images!

This is one of the first photos I shot with "the Bazooka," using the railing of my deck to support the lens as I aimed at the goose who was in the lake not too far from me....

Redstart on the Long Mynd in Shropshire DSC02746-2.jpg

I like the lens for :
1) it's small and light (relatively)
2) Internal zooming
3) affordable
4) has good range (coupled with TC)
5) sharp enough (not compared to the primes)
6) short zooming turn

Things I like less:
1) huge hood ( I replace mine with a smaller screw on metal hood)
2) no Arca on tripod mount ( a huge miss, I replace mine with iShoot mount)
3) Bokeh a bit messy
4) Slow for sunset and low light shoots
5) Single motor (could be faster with 2)

The 200-600mm is great for butterflies...!

Absolutely loving the lens on the R4, super sharp and the handling is revolutionary for a big zoom. This is one of my favourite shots so far, paired Southern Migrant Hawkers, with the female being a rare Androchrome, meaning she has mimicked the male colouration (she's the one underneath).

I replaced the original Sony tripod foot with a Wimberley foot, which is Arca-Swiss and which works very nicely with my Wimberley II gimbal head that I use on one of my tripods specifically for my two longest lenses.

Do most of my shooting handheld can get a bit heavy after a while or maybe just an age thing on my part ;)

Gannets have to be one of the most elegant of large birds, and the 2nd and 3rd year birds have these amazing markings as they start to mature. This shot also highlights that I have no issues with the 7RIV/200 600 Combo. Plenty sharp and no issues tracking or focussing.
This was taken at Bempton Cliffs, Yorkshire, UK 3 weeks ago. Such a great venue as the birds come by at eye level.

That is another top shot and makes me so jealous.
But its good as it will push me to get to a better standard once I am kitted out fully.
Well done you have got this all working so well.
