I thought I'd start a thread for images from the 300 GM with an unedited shot from this morning. First the full frame (scaled), then a 100% crop. No sharpening applied to the image after loading into Photoshop.

I will add more images, but I thought starting with one unprocessed seemed fair.

Shot on an A9 III at f/4 1/2000 ISO 1250 - Animal Eye AF focus.

And for today's sample, how about something just a little bit bigger than a meerkat?

The full frame I shot, scaled to 2000 wide. Shot at base ISO (250), f/4, 1/2000.

And now a 100% crop: I'd say the eye AF nailed it.

Ring-necked Parakeet photographed on a gloomy Saturday morning in Morden Hall Park South West London. Photo taken with the Sony 300mm f2.8 GM lens with the 2x TC attached on an A1 body. 600mm ~ f5.6 ~ 1/320sec ~ ISO 2000 ~ Cropped Square and processed with Topaz DeNoise.

It would be interesting to see the image without the de noise.

Another cheetah shot - I think this one shows off the cheetah and lens even better. Again, shot with the 300mm f/2.8 GM and A9 III. But this time at f/8, 1/2000, ISO 5000 - I thought you like to see how much the image deteriorates with a somewhat higher ISO :-D

The frame I shot:

and a 100% crop:

I'm happy with that level of detail.

Love this lens. A7RV, f2.8 ISO 200 1/1000 - Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo with Joey catching the morning sun.

Most of the time I was able to photograph this raptor it was simply soaring through the air. This sequence shows it putting a bit of effort ;)

These are consecutive shots of a black kite in flight today. This is essentially a single wingbeat.

Shot with an A9 III running at 30fps at 1/6400, f/2.8, ISO 250 using the 300 f/2.8 GM.

Every shot has been cropped to 2000 x 2000 to suit this site, so they are at 100% - you definitely can crop images from the A9 III.

The only shot where it missed focus on the eye was the ninth one.
