the cliff notes are - if you are a student, faculty or staff at a US educational institution, you can sign up for the program and get a 1 time rebate of up to 200 dollars on qualifying purchases.
I used mine for the 200-600 i recently purchased. Combining these can be great - for instance, I got a 20% discount from Focus Camera, dropping their price to 1600 dollars, then submitted the purchase for the rebate and got a further 200 dollars in the form of a Visa Gift card (digital by default, but you can request a physical one) so all in all, 1400 dollars for the 200-600 - not bad at all!
Note too - i am NOT a teacher, just a staff member and I was approved. All I had to submit was my school photo ID. Easy-Peasy.
