I've been trying to find out when I can expect viewfinder blackout on my A7iv.

When shooting with the camera either in Electronic or Manual shutter and using fully compressed raw files, I am getting 10 fps for 3 secs before the buffer starts to cut it down, but I am not getting any shutter blackout.

Is this normal? As I am sure I have seen reviews stating that the A7iv has a shutter blackout issue.

I've never experienced it, but may have an opportunity to try in the next week. I shoot uncompressed RAW so my max frame rate is going to be 6FPS, which is plenty for my needs.

According to Sony you should be able to shoot 1000 shots in lossy RAW without affecting the buffer, but of course that depends on the card speed. I've seen tests with a V60 UHS II card that shows the camera starting to slow after about 10-15 shots. Again, I rarely hold the shutter for more than a second +, so I've never experienced buffer slowing.
