Testing the A73 and the Tamron 70-180mm - Baseball

Finally got a chance to get out and test the Tamron 70-180mm lens at my son's game (he's not pictured here). I started out with the 200-600 but given the field setup I was simply TOO close for the lens to be effective. I also had to shoot through a fence which was a pain...

Switched to the Tamron and I was pretty happy. Wish I had more pixels to play with but the A73 does what it does. :)

Didn't do much to alter the photos other than crop and some basic corrections.

Yeah, good work. The Great American Passtime. Jacques Barzun, the philosopher and polymath, said "Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball."

They play here on Friday night. I'll have to hustle my ass down to the field some Friday and see what I can catch. I am not sure the seats are behind the catcher but there will have to be something I can photograph. It is just fun to watch a local game with none of the hoopla of major league. The duel between the pitcher and the batter, that's it.
