I am currently using a A7IV and 200-600mm for bird photography. I am considering getting either 1.4 or 2x converter.
The main reason why i want the converter is to gain extra reach, i understand that i will lose a stop or two, but in good light F8 or F11 should still be fine.
Anybody using the same combo, please let me know the pros and cons.
The 200-600 with the 1.4x will actually take you to F9 and the 2x to F13. I have both teleconverters and typically only use the 1.4x on it and that’s when the light is good. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the 2x on my 70-200 F2.8 GM II lens though.
