Going by the internet the pouch thing is just that. Nothing important.
It gets the Musk name for a gland at the back of it. And I thought that dangle part was why.
But as long as I have been birding I have had this on my list of must gets.
Then yesterday 30-09-2021 I went to a local wetlands which is wide and there it was.
And close to the edge and this gave me the chance to get off a few shot.
It was in mating behaviour so this could be why it was hanging about there.

Cool and unusual bird. Looks like a ball bag that :)
 
Fascinating, never seen or heard of this bird before.
