  1. Yes
With the first snow in over 2 years provided an opportunity for some icicles with plants. Because of the lack of snow this was also my first chance to see what actually gets covered in ice. A couple difficult things in capturing these were 1) tilty screen suck and I can't wait till I have one of those nice twisty screens and 2) finding a decent background without creeping people out.

That frozen rose pic is really something. Nice catch.

I really wish that was in a better location. I'd love to try and see what I could get with the 50mm macro or even my 17-24mm but I just can't get myself to attempt that. You can't tell from that photo but it is right under a living room window and though I know the people it doesn't feel right.

Some finds this year after storms and good conditions for icicles forming:

Had a chance to get out in the cold though sunny weather with some ice around. This looks nice but a deeper depth of field would have been much better but really couldn't see that until getting into editing.

Nice work, interesting to view. Would you consider focus bracketing with your ice shots?

Yes. For this one I didn't have a tripod with me. Wonder how focus stacking would go with this because it really isn't noticeable pre edit how much depth there is.
