Been trying to catch that Earthshine I mentioned before, but still enjoying a clean crescent shot. So here are two crescent moons almost a month apart:

I think getting any amount of Earthshine in a single image is going to be pretty difficult.

agreed, I took higher ISO versions to merge, but I have to admit I don't know what I'm doing in that regard. I gave up and posted the crescent shots that were exposed normally for the moon's surface.

I have been wanting to do some astro shots here the last few nights but it's been cloudy and/or raining unfortunately.

We have a Total Lunar Eclipse here early in the morning on 8th September. At the moment they are saying there is a 54% chance it will be cloudy.

This is a handy website for stuff like eclipses:

Well, at least it's still Winter here. Officially anyway. We've had some temps up around 21-22º already but that doesn't necessarily mean clear skys at night.

Tonights (06/10/25) Super Full Moon (99.8% full) over Blackheath at 19:47 handheld. At this time the moon was 362,826 km away. Tomorrow night at about midnight it will be even closer at about 360,561 km and almost at its perigee, or closest approach to the Earth. When a full Moon occurs at perigee it's called a supermoon and appears 14% larger and 30% brighter than a normal full Moon.
