My wife and I just returned from a River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. We had decided to try and pack light with just a carry-on and personal item. I went back and forth over whether to take my a7RV with maybe the Samyang 35-150 and Sony 16-35 f/4 or to just take my RX10iv. I decided to stick with just the RX10 since I would be spending a lot of time walking. While there were a few times I wished I had the a7RV (especially in dark churches or museums) I am happy with the shots I got. Here are some examples. I had downloaded the latest version of PhotoLab (v. 9) and mainly used it for editing.

Since you're happy, who am I to discuss?
In fact, l have been a happy rx10 m4 user for over 6 years. Bought an a7c ii a few months ago, since I was tired of post processing and de houding nearly every pic. Once you see it, it gets worse and worse. However, I still love my rx10, take it with me on walks with my wife when I don't want to loose time changing lenses. If Sony would have made a RX10 M5 I would have bought it without looking...

Thank you for sharing your trip photos! I have my RX 10 in my car; I remove when it is too hot. If I see an interesting subject I stop and bring it out. I was really hoping Sony would have made the RX 10 v, would buy it in a heartbeat.

OMG, was just admiring your photos, great by the way, and saw the Altes Rathaus in Bamberg! I was stationed in the Army in Bamberg from 1979 to 1982. Do you know how many times I staggered over that bridge from the "old" part of Bamberg heading back to the Kaserne after a night of drinking with my German friends. I got to Germany already speaking German so I tended to hang out with the locals in the old part of town instead of the GI hangouts. Such great memories.

I have a preset set up in PhotoLab just for the RX10 that has helped me reduce the time processing photos. I don't know that I would want the RX10 as my only camera but I do like having it as an option and as a backup. Ultimately I chose it on this trip for the size and convenience. I mainly wanted to get photos just to remember the trip. I do wish Sony had an RX10M5 as an updated option. If I had decided to check a bag I might have taken both cameras.

I agree. I keep it with me more since it is more convenient to carry around.

How cool. My son-in-law was stationed a couple of years in Hohenfels so we had visited them two summers in a row so we had visited a few areas. I was looking forward to Bamberg and it did not disappoint. Also loved the smoked beer while there.
