Yesterday, I found myself drawn back to Portmore Reservoir, still carrying the memory of my first encounter with autumn’s vibrant tapestry. As I wandered along the quiet banks, I came upon this trio of silver birch—each tree a living chapter in nature’s unfolding story.
The centre birch stood radiant, its canopy glowing with golden yellows and fiery oranges, a beacon of autumn’s full glory. To its left, a companion nearly bare, its last leaves holding on in a gentle farewell. And to the right, a tree still cloaked in green, only just beginning to yield to the season’s touch.
Standing before them, I was reminded how nature never rushes—each tree embracing change in its own time, each stage beautiful in its own right. There’s a quiet magic in these transitions, a reminder to slow down and notice the subtle shifts all around us.
If you were here beside me, which stage of autumn would speak to you most?
