One of my first shots taken with the Sony A9 III + 200-600mm. I didn't need to apply any sharpening since the lack of an AA filter means really sharp files SOOC. Just upgraded to FW 4.0 and am excited to see if there are any noticeable AF improvements in the field.

I was apprehensive about the overblown comments regarding dynamic range, colors, and high ISO performance of the A9 III - but this cleaned up nicely with LR noise reduction and some minor color correction.

Location: California, USA
Date Taken: October 2025
Equipment: Sony A9 III + Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS
Settings: 1/1250s, ISO: 12800, 200mm @f/6.3, Handheld

I'm a little confused by the shot. It appears to be in reasonable if not good light, yet the settings suggest near gloom.

Love the cat, are these commonly seen?
