A couple of days ago I was out with my new Sony FE f2.8 100mm GM macro lens, with 1:4 magnification to showcase this fallen leafs form, full of beautiful textures and intricate patterns, yet is gently yielding to the slow process of decay. There’s a small break in its structure, a quiet reminder that even in decline there is still astonishing detail and beauty.
In time, it will return to the earth, nourishing the soil that will support the rebirth of buds and flowers. An ending, yes, but also the quiet beginning of what comes next for those of us continuing our journey with the Spring Reset.
