Congratulations to last months competition winners and a big thanks to everyone who took part. I'll be in touch with you soon to arrange the prizes.

1st place with 7 votes was @twamers68 with his cracking osprey feeding shot.
2nd place with 6 votes was @Angieb with her stunning Alaskan Coastal Brown Bear.
3rd place with 4 votes was @Paul stuart with his awesome Red Deer shot.

Since it's the last month of the year it would be great to see your favorite shots of 2022 for our December competition.

Competition Dates
Entries start: The date that this post is published.
Entries end: December 20th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)
Voting starts: December 20th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)
Voting ends: December 27th December 31st at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)

What Do I Get if I Win?
1st Place - The first place winner will receive a $50 (US Dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon (you can choose depending on your country and preference).
2nd Place - The second place winner will receive a $25 (US dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon.
3rd Place - The third place winner will receive a $20 (US dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon.

There are no alternative prize options or cash options, so if you are unable to accept a B&H or Amazon voucher I'm afraid you will miss out on the prize.

If your local currency is something other than US dollars then the above amounts will be converted based on the exchange rate at the time.

In the event of a draw the entry date will be extended but not past the last day of the month. If there are still equal votes for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place then the entry prizes will be split. I can't think of a better way of doing this for the time-being! If this happens I may also only be able to offer Amazon vouchers since $20 is the minimum for B&H.

How to Enter + Rules
  1. Simply post your entry below. It will be best to insert the image as full-size rather than a thumbnail.
  2. Only one photo entry per member
  3. Keep the photos clean and family friendly
  4. Sony cameras only
  5. Archived shots are allowed
  6. Don't use sky replacements
How to Vote (when voting opens)
  1. Use the vote button (up arrow) to the right of the post (below post on mobile) to vote up images that you like
  2. You can vote on as many images as you like apart from your own
Feedback
I'd really appreciate feedback about how the competition is running but please don't post it in this thread. Instead please post any feedback in this thread in the Feedback Forum.

Thank you for participating and good luck!

Tim

The fastest land animal in the world eye and quite possible the slowest vehicle in the world, the Land Rover Defender 2001 vintage :) Taken at Longleat UK in the summer. Photo is cropped more than i would like but shows the cropability of the Sony A1. Photo was taken from the Land Rover with the window open !

Straight out of camera, no post-processing except for cropping. I like the delicate crest feathers. This California Brown Pelican is starting to get the colors from the breeding season: silver feathers, white throat, yellow head, red pouch, and especially the blue eyes.

There's a saying by Mark Twain which I've always gone by in life. It goes 'whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect'. So this wall I found in Newtown in Sydney would have to be my favourite image I have taken so far in my one year photography career. Not much of a crowd pleaser, but it is called 'favourite' not 'best' image, so I can live with that. 🙂

This is a shot I did not expect, this loggerhead turtle turned up unexpectedly when I was in Kefalonia and was gone as quickly as it surfaced so I guess the only time I will ever see one in the wild

A tough one to call for favourite of the year, until now at least. While I may trump it if I see a Hen Harrier, I have been waiting years to photograph a Waxwing properly, and so I think this has to be the pick now.

I Hope 2023 goes better than 2022 circumstances limited me to move about this year so thought I would try something different as I was keeping mostly local so tried Infrared and I know it's not to everyone's taste but hey ho. Liked this one

Difficult one for me to pick a favourite but having recently returned from a trip to Kenya I was fortunate to have a few night time encounters with the very rare melanisitic Black Leopard . this gorgeous young female is about 18months old and not quite full grown but she was breathtaking and an awesome sight .

Since we don't have a clear 1st/2nd/3rd this month I'm going to extend the voting until December 31st at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT). Possibly also my fault for not reminding people to vote!
