Trying to break my creative dry-spell with a familiar topic: food!
Last night I made this Chinese-Jamaican staple in my family: Chicken & Mushrooms, served with white rice and sauteed Bak Choy.

For this dish, do you prefer the top-down look or at an angle?
 
Angle for me.
Thanks! At that angle, do you think I should close the aperture more? Not that the rice really needs to be in focus, but I'm just not sure if the DOF is too shallow.

Angle, and it's definitely too thin. Usually, food on a plate is all in focus
Yep, that's what I get for not using a tripod (or flash); if I had used either, I could have closed down the aperture.
Appreciate the feedback.
