Birds Gloomy North Yorkshire morning

Very gloomy morning on a walk around my local mere this morning; ISO was high so put my images through Topaz. What's the opinion of using such apps? The light is quite poor at the moment and I'm very much a newbie.

I am perfectly happy to use ISO 12,800 when necessary because ON1 NoNoise will render the noise completely invisible. I can also use very slow shutter speeds due to image stabilisation, so a tripod is very rarely needed.

In our local bird club we have got one man who shots with so much noise in his shots he needs this de-noiser program.
When he gets it right he has great shots but more often than not his shots are something most of the club just skip by.
He tells us it is trying to get the main focus on the bird, as he tells us all. But we feel he really has no idea.
I will suggest to him about this program and I feel if it is going to help anyone it will help him the most.
