I don't know why so many people here in Australia turn their noses up on these.
When you get shots as shown it just goes to tell you they have a lot to offer.
And if there are a lot in your area (as there are in mine) these are a great bird to get your eye in.

Thanks yes I agree, and don't blame the birds for doing what comes naturally.
There are many non-native birds in Tasmania some of them introduced but plenty have made their own way here. We, and others have to adjust to a certain amount of change as there wouldn't be a country in the world not affected by it. Protect what we can and avoid the mistakes of the past if possible. I suspect there are much larger forces at play.
