I am wondering if anyone has ever played with long exposures using a telephoto lens (like 70-200mm). What was your experience like with it, and any specific pointers you have learned?

I usually use my wide angles for long exposures, but since I have the Lee filter set I was wondering if it's worth getting an adapter for my telephoto lens.

i've done a little bit with my 150-600, but nothing noteworthy. Like you, i am mostly using a wide lens, or my "regular" telephoto (18-135) I would suggest turning off any stabilization you have.

I would imagine that a rest/tripod would be a must, i can't hand hold much more than a second with a wide lens, much less something much heavier.
