Tamron has announced the development of a new 20–40mm F2.8 Di III VXD zoom lens for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras like the Sony a7 IV.

The lens that Tamron says is targeted at vlogger’s should be available later this year for a currently undisclosed price.

This lens + an A7C would make for a vloggers delight indeed.

What would be the purpose of such a lens? Wouldn't the 16-35 be a better choice all around? I could see it if the only purpose is smaller/lighter, but those specific FLs make it kind of 'meh'. I'd rather see Tamron focus on a wider range 17-28. Make it 40 at the long end and keep it 2.8. That'd be a great lens.
