Finally had some time to visit the Venice Rookery this week. I don't know if it was the cold or not, but several nests were missing chicks that were seen the prior week.

That is a male Anhinga, they are quite common in Florida. The males get a bit more vibrant whites during mating season. They have to dry their wings since they lack oil glands like other water birds so they are always posing for pictures.
