At 3.5m the wingspan is the largest of any bird.

This one was shot in the Southern Ocean south of Australia.

A wide shot to give a sense of distances:

This was a day trip in heavy seas; I spent the morning wedged against a wall or railing on the deck.

Lovely shots Ern. Looks like you have a new 400 now, how's it working?

Thanks Tim.
Yeah, seems OK. First two outings used a lot of juice but it's now looking like the battery is failing.

Nice photos!

Thanks Tim.

Glad it's sorted Ern. Pity it took them so long to do what's right. Sony isn't really painting the best picture for customer service right now. There's the a7III shutter issue and the on going a7R IV + 200-600 issues which they simply prefer not to comment on. I expect they are losing many customers here and now that Canon is offering a viable alternative I'm sure that there are many who won't hesitate to switch brands if they can afford to.

Yes.
I thought Nikon was bad for not engaging with their customers. Sony engaged with me on this, and was prompt when they did make a decision, but overall they didn't give a sh*t. Their system failed.
You can't buy publicity like that.

Lovely shots.
