Over the weekend I went to a family wedding, my wife’s nephew was getting hitched… I have never really been a people photographer but as I was in the main wedding party I decided to give it a shot. I spoke to the official photographer and ask if it was ok for me to shoot from behind her as I didn’t want to encroach on her job.. she had no problem with me doing that..
Anyway here a few of the photos I took..

Oh they came up well! The photos aren't too shabby either..!

Enjoying that Tamron lens, clearly! ✅

Thanks Clint…the Tamron is a great lens…
I did a wedding once in the same manner, worked around the official photog. This was back in the film days, seems like I shot a Pentax K1000 with a side bracket mounted flash for that. It was fun doing it at that level but I'd never do it on a professional basis. In fact, I'm not sure I'd even do it as the main photographer for a friend. I can't imagine any genre in photography being more stressful than dealing with people in that setting.

Oh I agree.. I could never do it as a job or as a favour..

These are great! Great looking couple too. I also try to ask official photographers if I can work around them and not get in their way.

She was great .. very professional.. in fact she took some pics for me using my Sony with Tamron 70-180 F2.8 and commented on how light it was compared to her big Canon and 24-70 f2.8..

I love photographers like that, you can tell they enjoy their craft and aren't just in it for a buck.
