You know.... as I looked at this pic shot last summer, and just before I decided to post it now — I thought to myself, this is a really weird body posture; I wonder if anyone will know what she was doing. So I chuckled when you asked.

There were a half-dozen kids playing in an empty volleyball court, while their parents were eating lunch at an adjacent restaurant beer garden. This little one was perfecting her one-handed cartwheels (and other improvised body flips), and she was actually getting pretty good at it. But you're asking the question is valid. Looking at her arm positions and hands — one would be justified in wondering "what the heck" is going on here. It definitely needs context.

She's on the second half of the cartwheel (landing), which is why her right hand is pulling up sand as her feet come down.
