These were from a workshop at Sutton Hoo led by Phil Morley https://phil-morley.co.uk/work

This was a Christmas present from the kids and we had little idea about the theme other than it was close up photography.

I decided to go light and simple, well the decision was made for me when the second item in two weeks dropped of my 3 month old Benro tripod making it unusable. Hence I pocketed my 6600 and 30 mm f3.5 macro.

It was a bit of a revelation actually with one body and one lens in my pocket, freedom of movement and not having to handle a ton of gubbins was very enjoyable.

All the shots are freehand, and the only editing is a touch of cropping and some rotation.

This lens punches pretty well for it's weight, the only issue I found with it is that it is very susceptible to flare and not always in a nice way.

The first shot ws outside the theme of the workshop, but I include it here anyway because I like it. It's a vertical hand held pan at about a fiftieth of a second. It was trial and error, but as said, I like it.

These all came up well mate. I especially enjoyed the lady bug one, it looks fantastic! 🌞

I don't know how I missed this. Nice pictures! How close did you get for these pictures?
I have been curious about that lens for quite some time. I like to take photos of flowers and I always feel like I could use a macro in my collection.

You have to be careful at times not to touch the subject, a few inches at times. In my opinion, this is serious good value.

Not weatherproof and silver only, hey-ho!
