Two slightly different views, which do you prefer?

First image I was sat on the floor, two steps below the paving level with the camera just about a meter above the paving level.

Second image, I took this while standing, about two steps below the paving level.

I prefer the first one, feels like it has more depth.

Thanks Etienne, Thad and Chris. I did prefer the second one but now that you guys mention it, I think possibly the first as it does feel as though it has greater depth as you say. I think its the perspective angle of the ceiling and the greater height due to more foreground. Thanks for your thoughts, greatly appreciated.

Bit late to the party, but I also prefer the first, for much the same reasons others have mentioned. Also, it's subtle, but the column reflections seem to be slightly stronger in the first.
