Good day everyone. What are your thoughts on the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM versus the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II? - Thank you in advance.

(Mostly for traveling but also for indoor and outdoor events, street photography, outdoor portraits, landscapes, and cityscapes.)

For the types of shooting you mention I really like the Samyang 35-150mm f/2-2.8. Tamron also has one. It's a but heavy (but so is the Sony 70-200) but I used to take my 28-70 and my 70-200 don't lose much just using the Samyang. I've used it for indoor events and outdoor concerts. It's great for street and travel photography.

I have the Sony 70-200mm OSS2 and love it. Before I bought the Samyang it was probably my most used lens and I still use it more for sports since it does focus faster and is super sharp. For the price of either of the Sony lenses you mention, however, you could buy the Samyang 35-150 and the Samyang 135 f/1.8 that gets great reviews.

Unless I am doing a high detailed stitch I do not tend to be beyond 50mm when doing landscape/cityscape shots. As GvilleRick suggested that Samyang 35-150mm would probably be a better options if you are looking for an all in one, though you might want to pair that with something wider as well. I like the Sony 24-105G (a constant F4) as a travel/landscape/cityscape lens (sure it is fine for street I just don't do that so not sure) but you probably would want something longer for events.

Basically I don't think you can cover all those things well with just 1 lens. I think you should be looking at two lens. 1 being a wide to mid zoom and then another mid to telephoto.

Thanks for the comment. I now have a good coverage of focal lengths from 16mm to 85mm, but I still need a high-quality telephoto lens with a focal length of 100mm and more. Recently, I acquired two options that fill this gap: a 135mm lens or a 70-200mm lens. I plan to use my Sony A7Rv with either of these lenses. I’m looking for a versatile lens that can perform well in low-light conditions. With a 135mm lens and a 61MP sensor, I can achieve an equivalent focal length of up to 200mm on an APS-C crop mode. On the other hand, a 70-200mm lens would provide much more reach, but it would be slower and heavier.

There is a 95g weight difference between the two. There is a 35mp difference between the two at ~200mm. If you can't capture it at 2.8 you probably aren't going to do any better at 1.8.
