male kestrel from recently not the best shot

We had a superb day for Raptors today, Buzzards, Kestrels, Peregrine and Red Kites all present. Lots of shots to go through, but here's a quick edit to be going on with. That is a Rabbits leg in it's talons...

Water landing - marginally qualifying as birds in flight! I think I prefer the cropped version as the background of the full frame is rather busy. Of the cropped versions, I think I prefer the colour ot the black and white - any comments welcome.

A tually never saw one flight. It seems to be well of balance to take to the sky.

Drake Mallard - not much light to work with this morning, but I liked the colours in this shot and didn't mind that it's a little soft.

That’s a great shot of a very unusual looking bird, the colours on its beak it’s eye and forehead are brilliant

Thanks, interestingly the eye colour is the easiest way to differntiate female (in this photo) from male (dark brown eyes)

I was photographing a pack of Painted Wolves devouring an Impala they had taken down, when this Tawny Eagle arrived on the scene. It happened so fast that I just swung the camera around, grabbed focus and started shooting, never even giving a thought to changing the aperture setting, which is a pity, because the very busy background slightly spoils what would otherwise have been a magnificent shot.
