So over the last couple of days a Yellow-Headed Caracara has been hanging out in my area, to say this is a rare bird for my area would be inaccurate, this bird should not be here. The Yellow-Headed Caracara is not a migrating bird, none of the local zoos/rookeries have ever had one and this is not the type of bird one keeps as a pet. The most likely way this bird arrived is that it somehow got into one of the many fruit ships from Brazil and was only able to get out when it got to the port of Wilmington (major east coast fruit import location).
