A few favourites from recent trips out locally. I've not yet got close to the Shorties this year, mainly because I was hindered by a total bellend "photographer" last time out. His card is marked. I couldn't resist the Kestrel, such perfect light that day.

One of this years Grey Seal Pups. There have now been over 4000 born in a stretch of beach that runs for 3 miles. An extraordinary number.

This pup still had some umbilicus, so I would reckon was a day old or so.

Redwing. Extremely timid thrushes that migrate here for the winter. I don't see them often, though there was a flock of 50 or so on this day. This took a lot of sneaking up and some cropping after.

nice set Kev but are you sure these are from recently? because I see sun and light and there has been nothing but rain and dark skies in Yorkshire for weeks

Haha, cheers! Not here in Norfolk. These shots are from Christmas Eve and New Years Day and the following day. Today has been utterly dismal though.

Cheers Ian and Fred.

Oh...rubbing it in, eh?! 🥶🤬 :ROFLMAO:

Great set of shots that you have posted for us to see for free, well done on them all.
The Kestrel one has the looks of our Nankeen Kestrel which there is a push for a name change to the Australian Kestrel.
But you can see there are differences between them.
Well done.

Thanks Ralph. There are a lot of similarities in all Kestrels, even the small American ones. Great birds.
