On Monday I was in a local woodland and after I had created these three images I made my way back through the woodland and saw one final composition, I walked around before placing my tripod down...then I heard a lot of buzzing...I was standing right next to a wasps nest on the gound by the roots of a beech tree in amongst the fallen leaves.....within seconds I was covered in them being stung all over me...I ran about trying to get them off with a stick and then removed my top to get them off.....after many stings later I had to retrieve my camera gear....with the amount of stings I was advised to have it checked out....a few hours late I got strong antihystamines to help.
They kind off knocked me out for the next day with constant drowsiness and itching all over my body, thankfully today I am feeling a lot better.
It just goes to show you never know who you will meet in the woods one day
🙂

Woodland Guardians

As I wandered through the woodland, I was struck by this striking scene, the two sturdy trees standing tall like bouncers at a backstage door, guarding the twisted, characterful tree at the centre, as if it were some woodland celebrity. The beautiful contrast of vibrant yellows and rich greens added a sense of energy and drama, almost as if the leaves themselves were part of the story, nature’s cast in a quiet performance, frozen in time.

The Embrace of Light.

Shortly after I came across this magnificent tree with its branches stretching out in all directions, almost as if reaching to gather the light around it. The late sun poured through the leaves, lighting them from behind and turning them into a glowing canopy. I stood for a moment just to take it all in, nature’s quiet display of form and light, powerful in its stillness.

The Dancer

This amazing silver birch immediately caught my eye, its curved form so full of grace, as if caught mid-dance in the heart of the woodland. The backlighting added a delicate luminance to the leaves, enhancing the sense of movement and elegance. It’s moments like this that remind me how full of character trees can be, each one shaped by time, light, and place.

Really love the glow going on here, reminds me to cut back on my sharpness slider on future edits, though I know I'm oversimplifying 😅
