I didn't find this topic here. When I received my a7R IV, the sensor was protected by shutter-like blades. However, after turning on, the blades disappeared leaving the sensor exposed in the lens hoods. Is it possible to activate these blades again?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will reply. I think the sensor is exposed when electronic shutter is selected. You can make a change in set-up to have the mechanical shutter drop back down when turning the camera off:
Menu -> Setup -> Setup Option -> Anti-Dust Function (Shutter When Pwr OFF)

I think I have mine set up this way. I hear a shutter sound when I power down...takes a second . I have the silent/electronic shutter option selected. Mine is an A7R3

There's a thread on FM forum that implies that feature isn't available on A7R IV ;

Again, I hope someone more knowledgeable will reply but I would guess you could select mechanical shutter before turning camera off?
