The thunder of hundreds of hooves was deafening, but all we could see was a great dust cloud which enveloped us!
A few moments later, the cloud started to dissipate, leaving this chilling site, a little too close for comfort!
I would far rather face a lion, leopard, rhino or even elephant on foot in the bush, than a buffalo with it's head raised, and looking down it's nose, straight at me!
Rooted to the ground, without moving a muscle, we faced each other for what seemed ages, but in reality it lasted only moments, before we extracted, and withdrew to a more comfortable distance where we could enjoy the spectacle which played itself out before us.
