Snapped this at a very opportune moment today with my A6400/16-50 PZ kit lens. Bella finds little peace and quiet from our Miniature Dachshund so she relishes it when it’s available (without hiding in a closet that is)

Hi Bella!
Matt, a suggestion? you could probably go as low as 1/160 without fear of having a blurry photo, especially when the cat is calm like this, and this way you won't have to crank the ISO up as high. Now if she's being active, well, all bets are off 😅
I photograph my kittens at 1/160 or 1/200 when they're a little calmer and sometimes at 1/500 or 1/640 if they're being active, play fighting or chasing a lizard, but usually at that point I just get fed up and stop trying to photograph them :ROFLMAO:

This morning our cat stuck her head through the braided handle of a paper bag while trying to get into the bag and then panicked and took of running through the house in terror. The appropriate shutter speed was not a factor. Man, can that cat run! Poor thing. It took a long time to calm here down, not to mention how long it took to corner her and catch her.
