Blue Mountains

I got up early to drive 6 hours west from Sydney, only to find the highway blocked in the mountains for 11 hours.

What to do? Test out the lenses on my three sisters.

Did you continue the trip west mate?

No.I didn’t know when the road would open. It had been shut 12 hours or so but, obviously, they weren’t keen on letting anyone see the accident. I’d have arrived in Dubbo just before dark and Mum’s in a nursing home with visiting hours closed down after 3pm. I stayed a while and drove home.

One of the problems with that route is once it's closed, it's a ball ache to go around it. The run back down and around to the Bell's Line sometimes isn't worth the effort. The view from Lincoln's Rock is pretty decent next time you're stuck up there. (Obviously there are a load of nice views and compositions up there)
