Colour or B/W image?

These guys are photographed after sunset, so to avoid black blobs, I have amped up the ISO, opened the aperture, and then pushed out the shadows.

That's inevitably resulted in an x-ray effect, which is unnatural in a natural science kind of way, but I think more appealing from the underside than jet black. From behind, their wings reflect light which is quite interesting.

I've always been a bit fond of b/w, but I know it's not always popular. So, b/w or colour for these night creatures?

X-ray or avoid that?

Hi, Gary.
I prefer the colour. The x-ray is interesting and, for me, conveys more information about the animal.
 
I like both, but the B&W gave me some Batman/Gotham vibes, which was fun lol.
 
I preferred the colour. To me, that keeps it more natural.
If it was Halloween then the B&W may give more of that freaky feeling if that what you were looking for that time of year.
