On a recent outing I was lucky enough to get the Kookaburra (my very favourite bird of all) and then the smaller Sacred Kingfisher.
Both were found in the same area not that far from home.
The Sacred Kingfisher is far smaller and this one was moving from place to place as I get shots of it.

Top job Ralph. Lovely birds. We only have one species of Kingfisher here.

Great photos! With that lens are you shooting in APS-C mode at all? Thanks

Thanks for that and I think over Australian we have got 10 different kinds of Kingfishers and in my area we at times have got 4 that come to the place.

Thanks and no I use it in APS-C. But I have switched to it every now and then but as a rule it is I don't use it all that much at all.
