Some interesting comparisons between the A7iv and A7v Dynamic Range and Noise.
Using the electronic shutter on A7v you take a little hit on DR and Noise for ISO under 1000,
For ISO less than 1000, A7iv marginally better than A7v electronic shutter on DR and Noise
For ISO less than 1000, A7v Mechanical Shutter better than A7iv on DR and Noise.
For ISO greater than 1000 A7v MS, A7v ES and A7iv perform the same on DR and Noise.
So, I guess this means, shoot mechanical shutter on the A7v if you are in good light conditions and you don't need the ultra fast burst rate OR the precapture.

Do you reckon that, in the real world, most people would even be able to notice the difference? I don't.

guess when you need the extra envelope of high dynamic range which is generally landscapes stick your camera on tripod and use that impressive iso 100 in mechanical shutter ,its actually way better than my A1 and a7r5 ,for everything else stay in electronic shutter, but at least the mechanical shutter is rated for 500,000 unlike the a74.Not sure the electronic shutter is quite foolproof as jan wegner showed some wing distortion for birds in flight which is close but no cigar from sony you will just have to be careful with subject.
