Another year of football is here. The local high school team had their first home game last night after losing on the road the past two weeks. They were hosting a team that has struggled the last few years but came into the game having won the past two weeks. The first quarter was pretty slow until late in the quarter. The home team took control and led 33-0 at the half. The stadium had to be cleared at halftime due to lightning in the area and after several delays the game was called.

As I was editing the photos I checked the YouTube site of my grandkids' school and discovered my grandson was announcing for the football game. (The school is two time zones away.)

Color Guard was composed of 1st responders as a remembrance of 9/11.

Being able to crop with the a7Rvi helps catch closeups. I wish I could afford a 300 or 400 f/2.8 but have to make do.

The quarterback (#4) dropped the ball earlier on this play but it bounced back into his hands. He changed directions and I managed to lock back onto hom as he turned the corner to score.

Some nice shots there, always good to see grass roots sport. We just had an NFL match played here in Melbourne which went well. The price of tickets, it being a work day, and two teams that I don't follow combined to keep me away. But they did get a crowd of over 100,000.
